New Citizenship Fees Announced for Adult Applicants in Canada
Effective March 31, 2025, the Government of Canada has increased the right of citizenship fee for adult applicants from CAD $100 to CAD $119.75.
This adjustment affects permanent residents aged 18 and over applying for Canadian citizenship. The total fees now comprise a processing fee of CAD $530 and the updated right of citizenship fee, amounting to CAD $649.75.
Applicants who submitted complete online applications before March 31, 2025, and paid the previous fee are not impacted by this change. However, those who submitted paper applications prior to this date may be required to pay the fee difference.
