Manitoba Welcomes More Skilled Foreign Workers Through Latest Provincial Nominee Draws

Manitoba continues to actively invite foreign skilled workers through its Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), with several draws conducted in 2025 to address the province's labor market needs. 

Recent MPNP Draws in 2025

Here are some notable draws from 2025:

April 17, 2025:27 candidates were invited under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 621 points.

March 6, 2025:A total of 111 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued—98 under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream (minimum score: 861) and 13 under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream(minimum score: 724).Notably, 27 of these invitations went to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.

February 20, 2025:41 LAAs were distributed—19 under the International Education Stream and 22 under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, with the lowest score among invited candidates being 711.

February 6, 2025: 76 candidates received LAAs—59 under the International Education Stream and 17 under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. Additionally, 18 Express Entry candidates were invited, highlighting Manitoba's alignment with federal immigration pathways.

Key Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the MPNP,candidates typically need to:

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI):Applicants must create an online profile detailing their qualifications, work experience, and connection to Manitoba.

Meet Specific Stream Requirements:

Skilled Worker Overseas:Often requires a connection to Manitoba through family, previous education or work experience, or an invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative.

International Education Stream:Targets graduates from Manitoba institutions who meet specific employment and language criteria. 

Achieve Competitive Scores:Each draw has a minimum score threshold, which varies based on the stream and the specific labor market needs at the time. 

Application Process:

Create an EOI Profile:Submit detailed information about your skills, work experience, and ties to Manitoba.

Receive an LAA:If selected, you'll receive a Letter of Advice to Apply, inviting you to submit a full application. 

Submit Full Application: Provide supporting documents and pay the application fee.

Nomination: If approved, you'll receive a provincial nomination, which can be used to apply for permanent residence through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
