Quebec Launches First Invitations Under New Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ)
On July 17, 2025, the Quebec government issued its first invitations under the revamped Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ). This round focused on candidates already living in Quebec who are fluent in French, have educational credentials or work experience in the province, and work in sectors facing labour shortages.
The draw targeted two program streams:
Stream 1: Highly Qualified and Specialized Skills:
216 candidates invited
Minimum score of 768
Must hold a Quebec-issued diploma (university, college, or vocational – minimum program length applies)
FEER occupation category 0, 1, or 2
At least 12 months of recent work experience
Strong French proficiency required
Stream 4: Exceptional Talent:
22 candidates invited
Must hold a doctoral (PhD) degree
