British Columbia Issues New Invitations Under Entrepreneur Immigration Streams

British Columbia continues to support innovation and job creation with its most recent round of invitations under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Entrepreneur Immigration streams.

The latest draws reflect the province’s ongoing efforts to attract experienced business professionals and investors who can contribute to the economic development of B.C., especially in regional communities.

Latest Entrepreneur Draw Highlights:

According to information released by the British Columbia PNP, the province issued invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates under two main entrepreneur pathways:

1.Entrepreneur Immigration – Base Category

Designed for seasoned entrepreneurs intending to establish or invest in a business in B.C.

Typically requires:

A personal net worth of $600,000 CAD or more

Investment of at least $200,000 CAD into a new or existing business

Active day-to-day management

Creation of at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

2.Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot

Tailored for entrepreneurs planning to open businesses in smaller B.C. communities (populations under 75,000)

Requires a lower investment and net worth:

Minimum personal net worth of $300,000 CAD

Minimum investment of $100,000 CAD

Must work closely with the community and receive a referral before applying

Who Was Invited?

While B.C. does not publicly list individual candidates, the province has confirmed that invitations were issued to applicants who:

Met the minimum points threshold for each stream

Submitted complete and eligible registrations

Demonstrated strong business plans aligned with community needs or economic priorities

The number of invitations issued and the minimum scores vary per draw and stream.

Why B.C. Is Focusing on Entrepreneurs?

British Columbia is one of Canada’s fastest-growing provinces, with strong demand for entrepreneurs who can:

Create local employment

Foster innovation

Support economic diversification in both urban and rural areas

The Regional Pilot, in particular, encourages newcomers to establish businesses in communities that struggle with population retention and labour shortages.

Considering Business Immigration to B.C.?

With regular draws and structured support from local communities, B.C. offers one of Canada’s most dynamic entrepreneurial immigration pathways.

However, the process is competitive and requires:

A detailed business concept

Community engagement (for the Regional Pilot)

Financial and operational planning

Strong immigration documentation
