Express Entry Profile Updates: As of March 17, 2025, Express Entry candidates whose profiles are nearing expiration can update their details instead of submitting new applications, preventing unnecessary delays.
Work Permit Policy: Alberta has opted out of the federal Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates in 2025, indicating the province's intent to manage its nomination process independently.
Family Connection and Occupation in Demand Pathway: This pathway under the Alberta Express Entry Stream has been discontinued as of March 17, 2025. However, candidates can still earn points under the Expression of Interest system for having qualifying family members in Alberta.
Prospective applicants should review these changes carefully and adjust their plans accordingly.
