Newly Added Occupations:

This expansion aligns with Australia's growing demand for skilled cyber security professionals, aiming to address critical skills shortages and support the nation's digital economy.

Implementation Timeline: ACS is updating its systems and processes to accommodate these new occupations. The updated assessment procedures are expected to be fully operational by January 15,2025

Assessment Pathways:
Applicants can utilize existing pathways for assessment:

  • Post-Australian Studies (PAS)
  • General Skills
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Additionally, ACS will accept optional vendor certifications in specialized fields like cyber security and DevOps to support applicants' domain knowledge and industry currency.

Due to system updates, applicants may experience processing delays of up to four weeks.

This development presents a significant opportunity for tech professionals to pursue migration to Australia, leveraging the expanded recognition of their skills in the cyber security domain.
