North Okanagan-Shuswap Unveils Priority Sectors and Occupations for RCIP Unveils Priority Sectors and Occupations for RCIP

The North Okanagan-Shuswap region has not officially announced the specific priority sectors and National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes for its Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP).The RCIP team has indicated that each participating community can select up to five priority sectors and 25 priority NOC codes annually, but these selections are still under development.

However, based on previous iterations of the program and regional labour needs, certain sectors and occupations have historically been emphasized:?

Previously Emphasized Sectors

Healthcare: Including roles like registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and medical lab technicians.

Skilled Trades: Such as carpenters, electricians, and machinists.

Childcare and Early Childhood Education:Early childhood educators and assistants have been in demand.

Hospitality and Food Services:Roles like food service supervisors and guest service supervisors.

Manufacturing and Construction: Including positions like industrial mechanics and construction millwrights.

These sectors were highlighted due to regional labor shortages and economic development goals.

For the most current information on the RCIP's priority sectors and occupations,it's recommended to regularly check the official RCIP North Okanagan-Shuswap website.
