Prince Edward Island Boosts Immigration by Inviting More Skilled Workers
Prince Edward Island (PEI) continues to actively invite skilled workers through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to address labor market needs and support economic growth.
Recent PEI PNP Draws
March 20, 2025: PEI issued 124 invitations under the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. The focus was on candidates working in occupations and priority sectors based on economic impact in the province, particularly those who have been living and working in PEI for at least one year.
February 20, 2025: A total of 87 invitations were extended to candidates through the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. Priority was given to individuals employed in occupations and sectors critical to PEI's economic development, especially those residing and working in the province for a minimum of one year.
April 17, 2025: In its fourth draw of the year, PEI issued 168 invitations to candidates in the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. The draw targeted individuals currently residing and employed in the province, with a focus on high-demand sectors such as healthcare, trades, and manufacturing. International graduates from institutions like the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’Île were also prioritized.
Eligibility Highlights:
Labour Impact Category: Applicants must be between 21 and 59 years old, have a full-time, permanent job offer (or a minimum two-year contract) from an eligible PEI employer, demonstrate sufficient settlement funds, and meet a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 4.
Express Entry Stream: Candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile and be eligible for one of the federal economic immigration programs: Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Additional requirements apply for those holding Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWPs) from studies completed outside PEI or spousal open work permits tied to a partner studying at a non-PEI institution.
PEI's PNP draws reflect the province's commitment to attracting and retaining skilled workers who can contribute to its economic development, particularly in sectors facing labor shortages.
