IRCC Issues 6,500 Invitations in First Category-Based Express Entry Draw of 2025 on 19th February
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued additional Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system.
In a category-based draw focused on French proficiency, IRCC issued 6,500 ITAs.
Express Entry Draw Trends in 2025:
This marks the fourth draw of the month, following two Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws and a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw earlier in February. So far, IRCC has issued a total of 11,601 ITAs this month.
In 2025, Express Entry draws have primarily targeted CEC and PNP candidates as IRCC works toward its immigration targets for 2025-2026. The "In-Canada Focus" category, outlined in the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan, facilitates the immigration of CEC and PNP candidates. This category has been allocated a total of 82,890 admissions for 2025.
