Ontario Issues Invitations Under Employer Job Offer Streams
Ontario has issued new Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates under its Employer Job Offer streams, though activity remains limited so far in 2025.
Key Highlights:
In January 2025, Ontario invited 4 candidates under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream, specifically targeting individuals under the Economic Mobility Pathways Project (EMPP).
No invitations have been issued this year under the International Student or In-Demand Skills streams.
Why So Few Invitations?
Due to significant reductions in Ontario’s 2025 nomination allocation from the federal government, the province has drastically slowed down its provincial nominee draws.
For context:
Only 4 ITAs have been issued in 2025 so far,
Compared to over 14,000 issued during the same period in early 2024.
Ontario is focusing on clearing a backlog from previous years and adjusting to its reduced quotas.
What’s Still Open?
Despite the slowdown in draws, Ontario is still accepting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for all Employer Job Offer streams:
Foreign Worker
International Student
In-Demand Skills
Ontario’s Express Entry aligned streams also remain active, and candidates may receive Notifications of Interest (NOIs) through their Express Entry profiles.
What Applicants Should Do?
Keep your EOI up-to-date and active.
Enhance your profile to stay competitive.
Explore Express Entry or other PNP options while Ontario navigates its allocation limits.
Stay tuned more draws may resume as Ontario clears backlogs and updates its 2025 strategy.
