Alberta Holds Biggest Immigration Draw of 2025, Inviting 683 Candidates
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has conducted its largest round of invitations so far in 2025, creating exciting new opportunities for foreign nationals seeking permanent residency in Canada.
Alberta Opportunity Stream – Largest Draw of the Year
In its most recent draw, the province invited 581 candidates through the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS). This stream is designed for temporary foreign workers already living and working in Alberta, who meet specific eligibility criteria related to employment, education, and language proficiency.
This makes it the single biggest draw of the year, highlighting Alberta’s ongoing commitment to attracting skilled talent to support its labour market and economic growth.
Healthcare Pathway Invitations
Alongside the Alberta Opportunity Stream draw, the province also held targeted invitation rounds under the Health Care Pathway, both through the Express Entry-linked stream and the non-Express Entry option. These pathways are dedicated to addressing Alberta’s increasing demand for healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and other frontline workers.
Total Invitations Issued
Across all three draws combined, a total of 683 invitations were issued. This demonstrates Alberta’s proactive approach to filling labour shortages, especially in critical sectors such as healthcare, while also opening doors for skilled workers already contributing to the province’s economy.
