Subclass 576 Visa: Sponsored International Students
The Subclass 576 Visa is designed for international students sponsored by AusAID or Defence to pursue full-time studies in Australia.
Eligibility Requirements:
To apply for this visa, you must meet the following criteria:
Course Enrollment: Be enrolled or accepted into a full-time course registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
Intent to Study: Demonstrate that your primary purpose for entering Australia is to study and that you intend to leave the country after completing your course.
Health Requirements: Undergo required medical examinations before submitting your application.
Financial Capability: Show proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses for yourself and any family members included in the application.
Health Insurance: Obtain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) to provide medical and hospital insurance for all applicants.
English Language Proficiency: Meet the English language requirements as specified by the Department of Home Affairs.
Academic Qualifications: Meet the minimum educational qualification requirements as advised by your education provider.
Good Character: Maintain a good moral record and provide police clearance if required.
Parental Consent (for minors): If under 18, provide written consent from parents or guardians allowing you to study in Australia.
Completion of Year 12: Show evidence of completing Year 12 or its equivalent, such as school reports and academic records.
Australian Government Debts:
Ensure there are no outstanding debts owed to the Australian government.
Respect for Australian Values:
Agree to and sign the Australian Values Statement.
Visa Privileges
Study: Enroll in a full-time course in Australia.
Work Rights: Work unlimited hours once your course begins (limited to 40 hours per fortnight during the course).
Accompanying family members can also work for the same duration.
Family Accompaniment:
Dependents can join you, provided they can cover their living expenses according to Australian standards.
Partners can study for up to three months. For extended study periods, a separate student visa is required.
