Steps After Skill Assessment

Steps After Skill Assessment

Once you have successfully completed your skills assessment for Australia, the next steps in the immigration process depend on the visa category you are applying for. Below is a general outline of the steps after skill assessment:

1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in Skill Select:

Log in to the Skill Select platform and create an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Provide details such as your occupation, skills assessment outcome, English proficiency scores, and other relevant information.

Select the visa subclass you wish to apply for (e.g., Subclass 189, 190, or 491).

Your EOI will be ranked based on the points you claim under the points-based system.

2. Wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA):

Based on your EOI and ranking, the Australian government may invite you to apply for a visa.

Invitations are issued during regular rounds for Subclass 189 and 491 (Family-Sponsored) visas or as per state nomination availability for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 (State-Sponsored) visas.

3. Apply for State Nomination (if applicable):

If you are applying for a Subclass 190 or 491 visa, apply for state or territory nomination.

Visit the relevant state/territory government website to check eligibility requirements, available occupations, and additional criteria.

Submit your nomination application and wait for approval.

4. Lodge Your Visa Application:

Once you receive an ITA, you will have 60 days to lodge your visa application.

Prepare all required documents, including:

Valid passport.

Skills assessment report.

English language proficiency test results (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc.).

Evidence of work experience.

Proof of educational qualifications.

Police clearance certificates.

Health examination results.

5. Undergo Health and Character Checks:

Schedule and complete a medical examination with an authorized panel doctor.

Obtain police clearance certificates from all countries where you have lived for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.

6. Wait for Visa Processing:

After lodging your application, the Department of Home Affairs will assess your case.

Processing times vary based on visa subclass, completeness of documentation, and individual circumstances.

7. Receive a Visa Grant:

If your application is successful, you will receive a visa grant notification.

The notification will include your visa grant number, validity, and conditions (if any).

8. Move to Australia:

Once your visa is granted, plan your move to Australia.

Ensure you meet initial entry conditions, if specified in your visa grant letter.

Prepare for settlement, including finding accommodation and employment.

If you are unsure about any step or need assistance, consider consulting a registered migration agent to guide you through the process.
